Anyone any idea how long a pair of standard shocks will last?

Over the last couple of months, my P11GT has been driving as if the shocks are gone (bouncing down the road, crappy braking). When I've tested them, however, they seem fine (bounce the car at each corner and it returns straight away).

The car's got around 80k on the clock with factory suspension.

Ideas??

If you mean that the original shocks/struts are still on the car after 80k, then you should go ahead and replace them.
