S2000 year 2000 or Porsche Boxster 1998interich 08-04-2005, 01:47 AM I am interested in getting a S2000 year 2000 or a Porsche Boxster 1998. My main two concerns are I want a car that represents my business. Basically when I pickup a client. I want him to look at the car and see tha my company is very well established. Second is I want to be pinned to my seat when starting from a redlight. I don't drive to fast but I am addicted to fast pickup. I want to go from 0 to 60 or 70 as fast as I can. let me know thanks V T E C H 08-04-2005, 08:25 PM well if you get the boxster, get the boxster S. Other wise get the S2000. S2000 = 240ish hp (some where around there) Boxster = 201 hp. As far as picking up clients both look great, the porsche name might be better to have though. just my opinion. honda_racing101 08-04-2005, 11:00 PM Yeah, most non biased clients will be more impressed by the Porsche. G-man422 08-05-2005, 02:39 PM I like porsches, but i'm not a big fan of the boxter. Unless it's an "s" get the S2000. Greenblurr93 08-05-2005, 04:57 PM if you want fast pickup get the porsche. ive driven both and the s2k doesnt really hit its power until the mid range, where as the porsche....well.....OMG (if you get the "S"). WetS2k 08-09-2005, 12:46 AM the porsche is going to be better when impressing clients. its a very nice car, however. performance wise..your petter off in an accord. s2k is better car wise.. SuperStock96 08-15-2005, 10:36 PM Remember the outrageous costs of maintaining a Porsche. Just because you get a good deal on the price doesn't especially mean you can afford a Porsche. I've seen it the hard way. liam821 08-25-2005, 05:22 AM The S2000 is the better car hands down - but the porsche says you have money. If all you care about is to impress your clients, get the porsche. I love my s2000 however, its a wonderful car. liam RSX-S777 08-25-2005, 05:14 PM Two words: Le Car That's right- Le Car! To your client it says, "I'm confident, secure in my manhood and just a little bit sassy!" And it's got an air of international intrigue. Not to mention the pricetag- around 98% less than both the S2K and Boxster. But I suppose if you can't find one I'd go with the Porsche... dustrman03 09-26-2005, 09:12 PM yes the porsche does catch people's eye..i personally would get the S2000..they are just incredible all around cars.. Zachp911 09-27-2005, 06:42 PM I would get the S2000 if you're just looking into regular Boxster, but if its the Boxster S then go for it. S2000 0-60 mph: 5.5 sec. Boxster S 0-60 mph: 5.9 sec Boxster 0-60 mph: 6.5 sec. L8R_H8R 11-13-2005, 11:08 PM i'd get the s2k over a boxster. the boxster was actually a mistake that Porsche decided to keep around. dustrman03 11-13-2005, 11:15 PM i'd get the s2k over a boxster. the boxster was actually a mistake that Porsche decided to keep around. link? S2000 is 5.4 to 60 L8R_H8R 11-14-2005, 12:39 AM link? S2000 is 5.4 to 60 gimme a while i needa dig it up. it was an article explaining concepts for the carrera. and the body style chosen (boxster) wasn't the one they meant to choose at all. But decided not to trash the project. and put a new name on it. Mus2kgen 05-26-2006, 01:55 PM I have an 2002 Honda S2000, and back when I was shopping for it my choices were the S2000 or the 2002 Boxter S. Definitely go with the S2000. It may be a honda but It's got the world's best 4-cylinder engine, the most hp/liter (120hp/liter), and heck of a lot lighter. It's also cheaper, so if you get and want to go even faster, you'll have money left voer to get engine mods. When the Honda and Porsche (Boxter and Boxter S) are both stock, the S2000 is much faster. Mus2kgen 05-26-2006, 02:04 PM One last thing. If you get the Honda you might want to change the exhaust. Between idle and 4000rpm it kinda sounds like a sewing machine. But at 5000rpm and above, it has a beautiful exhaust not like none other, it sounds aggressive and race like. I swaped my exhaust for a 5Zigen Medallion racing exhaust. acuns 12-02-2006, 11:39 PM If you are going to buy a boxster definitely go for 2000 and up, previous engines have some big problems even porsche dealers admit that(unofficially) For me Boxster looks better and has better performance in regular usage. S2000 may have better performance in track but if you are looking for performance I would recommend you to buy a Z3 M-Roadster, it is far more faster than Boxster and S2000 and in the same price range. TECH911 01-01-2007, 11:37 PM Hey, I'll tell you this. I am a porsche tech, but I drive a S2000 as my everday car. You can't go wrong with either one. The S2000 is my favorite. Porsches are a little heavy on the pocket when servicing. I'll tell you though. All I did was put some really nice Antera wheels on my S2000 and I get compliments almost everyday. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
