Engine Overheating

All,
I have Preowned 99 Honda Accord Ex V6 2 Dr, currently with 83K milage.
It is overheating when I slow after running it for about 10-15 mins. My mechanic can not figure out the problem is. He replaced Thermostat, radiartor cap and now he says that I need to change the water pump.
I need second opinion since my mechanic is just guessing what might be wrong with it and charging me for it.
Can any one please help me find out what could be possibly wrong?
Thanks all in advance

Need to check radiator and aux cooling fan operation.
They'll overheat fast when moving slow or not moving, start cooling down as soon as the car starts moving for enough time to get some air movement through the radiator.
If that seems likely, try swapping the aux and main cooling fan relays and see what happens. Don't drive it with the fans not working right, you'll crack a head fast.

PS. Find a new mechanic. This is cooling system 101 stuff.
