whats the stock horsepower rating on a 1989 lincoln town car 5.0L?
im gonna pull the motor out and rebuild it but was wondering the differences between this motor and a mustang motor from the same year?
are they different heads? different crank? different cam? different lower intake? or is it the same motor?
i noticed the upper intake is reversed (facing the other side) are they reversable? can i just flip it around for a mustang if i decide to reuse it? i'll probably go aftermarket on it anyway, but just wondered.

Not sure on the hp rating. But no a lincoln 5.0 is not the same motor as the 5.0HO that came out in the mustang.

I'm not real sure. I think everything is different. As far as components go. I dont think the lincoln 5.0 came out with forged or hyper pistons (hyper at most), I dont think they had E7 heads, or as good of an intake. They probably had less compression, smaller heads, smaller intake, and smaller cam. Also I doubt if they where roller blocks.

My 5 minute search indicates the stock 89 Town Car 5.0 had 150HP. The Mark VII had a 5.0 HO which had same HP as Mustang of the same year. I don't know how long they made the Mark 5.0 HO, but I remember seeing them around 1986.
