What does the rubbing sound like??

On my 96 (similar to the 98) a pivot link in the park brake lever at the backing plate was siezed and held the shoes rubbing against the drum inside the rotor.... Kinda hard to take the park brake shoes off when the axle is in the way but you might check it out...

Your not going to like this but if you have the D44 rear it can be the stupid axle bearings. It it kinda of a whistle noise?
The factory (From what I have been told) installed the bearings with the wrong clearances, and thus they make noise and end up failing.

I hope this helps, if you have the D44 like me this may be it.

Check your tires for any cupping/uneven wear. That can cause a noisy ride.
