Like my new Car?ZedEx 08-01-2005, 03:57 PM ... I lied, it MIGHT be. :D 1991 R32 GTR... http://img76.imageshack.us/img76/6332/bnr327oi.png The RB26DETT clip that comes with the deal... http://img76.imageshack.us/img76/9869/bnr32clip8xp.png He is looking to get around $10,000 for everything... Along with tons of spare parts, including new glass. The car could be completed for another $2,000 or so, considering I would have to import the body panels. Not to mention I would be selling the Civic so I could afford these (http://store1.yimg.com/I/hopup1_1854_35938012) bad boys. So I'm figuring about $15,000 for an AWD Twin Turbo 2.6liter monster, with endless possibilities... Then I would just have to buy a new daily driver. The guy's only an hour away from me, so I'm going up to check everything out. It might just be my new Race Car :evillol: -Wes DeleriousZ 08-01-2005, 08:05 PM sounds sweet wes, maybe you should pick up a nice z31 as a daily driver if you get this beast :D 1viadrft 08-01-2005, 08:33 PM Send me the engine... stat! Yaggus 08-02-2005, 03:34 AM Meh. Skylines are overrated. I personally wouldnt be bothered with it. too much effort for a car that isnt exactly the greatest looking thing in the world. But then again, I live in Australia. I see them all the time, The guy down the road from me has a 450hp R33 GTR. The just dont float my boat. MikeMan 08-02-2005, 04:03 AM Yeah Yaggus, I agree. Somehow skylines have become the best thing since sliced bread down here and I don't really think its warranted. Awesome cars, just a little overhyped down here. I'd probably see a good 5-10 skylines a day cruising around. -Mike Yaggus 08-02-2005, 05:33 AM Skylines and WRXs... People who own WRX's in Australia think they are the hottest shit in the world... Dont get me wrong they are good cars but they arent the be all and end all that their owners seen to think they are. WRX's in Australia are sort of like Supras in America from what i can gather. :aus: <--- What an awesome icon. MikeMan 08-02-2005, 05:55 AM Skylines and WRXs... Given the two main influences on the western adoption of japanese sports cars are Inital D and the Fast and the Furious, I'm actually rather happy that the 300zx hasn't made a big appareance yet in either of them. Given that the average second hand price of the AE86 trueno sprinter has more than tripled since Initial D was first made, financially it would make sense to buy up a whole bunch of no name jap sports cars and wait for them to appear in the next initial d series or fast/furious movie. :D -Mike Broke_as_**** 08-02-2005, 07:13 AM Given the two main influences on the western adoption of japanese sports cars are Inital D and the Fast and the Furious, I'm actually rather happy that the 300zx hasn't made a big appareance yet in either of them. A-fucking-men. Ever since drifting has gotten big, prices for 240SXs have doubled. Even given the black fender, "sort-of" running condition and bent frame on my 89 S13 I could probably still get what I paid for it back when it was pretty decent. Anyway, he's making his Civic illegal to drive...he wants to pick up a "showy" Z for crusing...now he's looking to buy a non-street legal Skyline... Damn Zed, you're going to end up with 800hp and $40,000 worth of cars and STILL be riding the bus. ZedEx 08-02-2005, 02:55 PM Civic is registered again... We had to put everything back together when we found out the other Daily Driver I was picking up, wasn't going to be worth it. That Zed didn't work out, he was wanting way too much for it... And he wouldn't budge any lower on the price. The Skyline won't work out... We don't have the room for it in the shop. Now... I'm back to square one. -Wes Broke_as_**** 08-02-2005, 08:32 PM To clarify: You mentioned an engine build going on with the Shitvic. Was this put on hold or are you building another block to drop in? What is happening on the autocross front? You aren't going to buy a Skyline (even as over rated as they may be, especially in my opinion, they are still nice rides and the unique factor would be cool) with a ready to go RB26 clip because you don't have the square footage? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot over? (http://activities.byui.edu/orc/ORC%20Descriptions/ORCpics/Equipments%20pics/256.jpg) Which trip back to square one are you on now? :D ZedEx 08-02-2005, 08:47 PM A seperate engine is being built. The B20B that we were building turned out to have massive scoring on the cylinder walls. I scrapped the motor, and made back almost what I put into it. Now we're looking for a B18 engine to build. It's much simpler due to it's 81mm bore, as opposed to the B20's 84mm bore. The B18 is much better because all B-Series pistons are interchangable. So if I throw in some P30 (JDM B16A) or PR3 (USDM B16A2) my compression will reach over 12:1... Anyway, the project is just taking longer than we originally thought. As for the Skyline, honestly I don't want to spend $15,000 on a car that I can't even go cruise the beach in. Not to mention that we don't have any room for it (Three CRX Project Cars, four engines, about a dozen different cars coming in and out every day to have seperate problems fixed.) And seeming as it's not my shop... I don't have say of where it would go. I'm not sure how I feel about leaving such a large investment out in the elements. (Wind, Water, Dirt, Theives) So we'll see... I may change my mind, I may not. I'd rather get a nice Zed for that price though. -Wes 1viadrft 08-02-2005, 10:04 PM Meh... I could care less about the SKYLINE... but what you shold be asking is: What can I do with that motor? This is more in line what I ad in mind... http://z32power.schoolwires.com/691094428141735/lib/691094428141735/Joels300ZX001.jpg Broke_as_**** 08-03-2005, 12:55 AM I like how the turbo is as wide as the valve cover. ExTrEmEDrIfT 08-03-2005, 02:20 AM i like the r32 and the r34 skylines yah kinda overrated but i never see them although that is because i live n the states .. i have seen more lamorghinis and ferraris here than skylines ( wait i havent seen one here yet) lol i have seen quite a couple lambos and ferraris though .. seen this guy at car boutique in shaumburg or something hes driving a ferrari 335 i think so i look at him and tell him " hey do a burnout , show us what this thing will do " then he tries tellin me he cant afford tires for it and drives off ever so normally and this is all after he tells us he has another ferrari sittin at home ... k3smostwanted 08-03-2005, 02:40 AM Meh... I could care less about the SKYLINE... but what you shold be asking is: What can I do with that motor? This is more in line what I ad in mind... what are you talking about George??? you cant even save enough money without blowing it on wifey to do a TT swap, let alone purchasing a turbo the size of the the RB26 block itself. :D BTW: i have a N/A motor lying aroudn that is begging to have the compression lowered and run a large single turbo!!! MikeMan 08-03-2005, 04:40 AM seen this guy at car boutique in shaumburg or something hes driving a ferrari 335 i think so i look at him and tell him " hey do a burnout , show us what this thing will do " then he tries tellin me he cant afford tires for it and drives off ever so normally and this is all after he tells us he has another ferrari sittin at home ... I think you've told us this story before and I've told you, doing a burnout in a ferrari is like taking a shit on an expensive rug. It might be fun and/or funny when you're doing it, but all you are left with afterwards is a rather expensive item's reputation, class and elegance left soiled. Ferraris are at a whole different level to you or I. You might think now 'hey if i got a ferrari the first thing I'd do is do a burnout and then street race some civic to see the look on his face!!!!!!' but in reality, if you had enough money to afford a ferrari, chances are you'd be much more mature and find other things (like beautiful women) that get your rocks off. Expensive Ferraris and Lamborghinis are for suits, and suits believe burnouts are for pimple-faced kids with nothing better to do. Besides, I'm sure just hitting that accellerator, hearing the engine jump up to 8000 rpm, feeling the wheels clawing into the road, the whole car lurching forward at breakneck speed, feels far far better than a silly little burnout. Much props to him for actually owning one and not selling out on some stupid Benz. :D -Mike MikeMan 08-03-2005, 04:45 AM BTW: i have a N/A motor lying aroudn that is begging to have the compression lowered and run a large single turbo!!! *cough*supercharger*cough* You could always donate it to the MikeMan fund, where he uses various car parts to make an obnoxiously loud and powerful gokart with no regard for human life. 100% tax deductible, I swear! (Note: MikeMan will not be held responsible for fraudulent tax return lodgings) -Mike ZedEx 08-03-2005, 10:29 AM MikeMan... Not where I live. In Wilmington, it's not uncommon to take a 15 cruise on the beach, and see 3 Ferrari F360 Modena, a few Lamborghini Diablo, a couple Porsche GT, a hand full of Dodge Viper, and Lotus Elise... And you know what? They're all showing their Asses, doing burnouts, speeding in unsafe stretches of roads. For some reason all of the banging college girls flock over to get the guy's number. Hell, I've seen the Lamborghini Gallardo in town, race a Civic Hatchback... And lose. We pulled up right behind the Gallardo, I reached for my camera to take a picture. When I looked up, all I heard was the Civic's 2-Step Launch activated... Then they were off. My buddy (who was driving) did his best to keep up, to no avail. But it was quite obvious who had won :evillol: I suppose we come from different cultures... I also beleive that Ferrari, Lamborghini, Koenigsegg, Porsche machines are amazing... But by no means are they ABOVE anyone. You've to keep in mind, they're just automobiles :) -Wes k3smostwanted 08-04-2005, 04:27 AM well, i dont know about burnouts but i know if a lamborghini or ferrari pulls up next to me. i am gonna try to get him to play with me, as i turn the knob on my boost controller all the way to the right. i definitely wouldnt tell him to do burnout but i would definitely attempt to leave his ass seeing Z32 taillights. anwyays, around my city...i get asked by kids to do a burnout and i refuse, as i feel i dont need to stoop to that level to impress a few 15 year old kids. so i can respect that the ferrari owners do not lay rubber at the becking call of a person...they would be the only one's looking by looking like a complete jackass. BlackBettyZ 08-08-2005, 01:51 PM the skyline would be more enjoyable to race and work on than a stupid hatchback honda. every motherfucker on the road drives one.. Racing a skyline would be real cool have a Z as a daily. Drive the civic in the snow cuz it deserves the fuckin cold, ice, slush, and sand.... every once in a while a nice roast of rubber in a ferrari, is necessary, i mean if your only gonna drive it atmost 6,000 miles a year. You gotta bake them babys up, taking off. ZedEx 08-15-2005, 01:13 AM Damn dude... That's kind of spitting on what I take pride in. Anyway, this proves my point (http://videos.streetfire.net/Player.aspx?fileid=A21BB994-89A2-4199-A7D9-FFC0E2CCF557&kw=28&p=0) -Wes DeleriousZ 08-15-2005, 01:27 AM wtf was that guy thinking?? the first car was absolutely insane tho... sounded like the thing was revving to like... 459475320459843 rpm... k3smostwanted 08-15-2005, 02:35 AM i love that video of the ferrari crashing. total stupidity... as for the first car, yeah that thing was definitely powerful...my goodness. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
