Glasspack on a 4.3?balls_to_the_wall 07-30-2005, 10:01 PM Ok, here is my question, how does a single glasspack on a factory exhaust setup sound?...crappy? throaty? or what? thanks -Ryan (the reason I ask is I am curious cause a Midas is aways away to buy a Ravin muffler) OverBoardProject 07-30-2005, 10:41 PM I like my classic hotrods so I like it. Others hate the sound, and call glass packs crap balls_to_the_wall 07-30-2005, 10:48 PM If I like the sound of glasspacks on small blocks, will i like it on a 4.3? OverBoardProject 07-30-2005, 10:50 PM I think so. I had 1 on an old ford 262, I6 which is a 4.3L, and it sounded GREAT balls_to_the_wall 07-30-2005, 10:56 PM Alrighty then, I think I know what tommorow's project is gonna be probably!! bigd7315 07-31-2005, 10:44 PM go ahead and put duals on you will gain a little hp and torque and gain a little mileage if you go all out a set of headers and true duals sound great and really help gas mileage power and sound sector95 08-01-2005, 12:24 AM IMHO, glasspacks are gonna sound like crap. A V-6 is not a V-8 and the 4.3L is a 90 deg V-6 to boot which means it's an uneven firing engine that uses an offset crank to compensate (it's really 3/4 of a 350 V-8). You might like the sound of it and in the end that's really all that counts but.... if it were my truck (and I've owned a 4.3L powered S10), I'd go with a DynoMax cat back system with one of thier Turbo mufflers. Or is you want to go cheaper, just get a D 'Max turbo muffler that matches your stock unit. These mufflers will flow much better than stock and IMHO, will sound much better than a glasspack. Mike balls_to_the_wall 08-01-2005, 11:29 PM Ive thought about Headers...But Headers=Money Me=College Student College Student=Broke as #&%$ Thanks for all your guys input! -Ryan OverBoardProject 08-02-2005, 12:30 AM If you have any extra money burning a hole in your pocket I'm sure that you can donate it to Ryans Kraft Dinner fund, and help out a fellow S-10 owner. I wish that I had the coin , Sorry Ryan balls_to_the_wall 08-03-2005, 10:08 PM Thanks Overboard, your a good man. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
