Hey everyone!!,

Well here is my problem, i went out to my wife's rodeo and noticed that the rear axle on the driver side is leaking. I was wondering how much damage this problem can cause and also about how much $ to fix it. Thanks for the replys!

The rear axle seals are pretty much standard for the rodeo rears. Leakage into the rear brakes is a common failure. Oil contamination can destroy the rear pads/shoes. I would guess at around $200 to have it repaired. If you have the limited slip rear (option code G80 on the firewall), make sure to add a tube of OEM limited slip additive upon refilling the rear diff.

The most common cause that it will leak is due to a plugged diffy vent tube.

If it is plugged it can blow a seal.

You can pick up the additive at the dealer. I got mine from St charles Isuzu. I am sure you can get it other places as well. It is not expensive.

Yep. Get the additive at a dealer or www.stcharlesauto.com. Other aftermarket LSD additives have been known to cause the diff clutch packs to chatter on the rodeos. Oh and like Ryan says, be sure to check the rubber vent hose at the top of the diff for blockage! That will cause the seals to blow out. The hose will have a plastic muffler thingy at the end. Make sure it's not plugged with mud/dirt.
