I was driving down York Road( I live in PA by the way) And out of nowhere this screaming Silver bullet flies past me and cuts in front of me. I Drive an 87 Mustang GT, nothign really modded out I'm only 16 and broke but i got plugs wires, KN, and Flowmasters, also it's a 5-speed, nothign to radical. There is a decent amoutn of traffic to mind you, so he flies past me and I take the bait, I drop it down into second and start to pull up on him(head to head teh CHarge would kill me prolly, I believe it was an auto, with an older guy about 50 driving but he was awesome) ok backto the story damnit. So I pull up next to him as he and his wife throw me a smile and wave, I just gun it and shift into third as he pulls in behind me, not really to hard to weave through the loose traffic. But in the end I wound up pulling way ahead of him, so I would kall that the first real victory for the Mustang, heh, but it was hella fun. Late.

Cool deal man always fun to test out the new cars. In AZ there has been 2 sightings of the '07 Shelby GT500 prowling the interstate. 1 sighting approx. 3 weeks ago and another just a couple of days ago on I10.

is your stang a 5.0? good um...run i guess, too bad you couldn't have gone head to head with the car....even though those new chargers are heavy mofos (around 4000lbs) they can still kinda move....good run:)

Kind of hard to tell if he's behind you so you really don't know if he planted his right foot or was just keeping pace with you for a bit. I'm familiar with York Road and traffic there is not exactly great for trying a side by side run to see who pulls on who for any great distance but I'll give you some credit and call it a kill seeing as he didn't run you down and overtake you.

All the new Chrysler/Dodge LX bodied Cars (300, Magnum, and Charger) have Automatics (4 or 5 speed depending on the model and engine) installed in them, there is no Manual Transmission option for them which sucks cause rowing through the gears (6 speed would be nice) with that Hemi could be some real fun. Also they have a rather low final drive ratio in them (2.82:1) not exactly what I would call "performance" gearing, now if they would put 3.90 gears in the final drive and change the tranny's OD gear to .60:1 (instead of .83:1) to keep the highway cruising RPM's the same then those things could haul all that mass better and really surprise some people.

What is it with all these local people posting today. I live in Horsham too. My advice would be not to post the name of hte roads you race on though. And be careful on York, the Warminster cop station is right off of it, and they tend to cruise on it alot. But you probably already knew that. Anyway, congrats on teh kill.

You don't need to change the casing, Just the ring and pinion and a rebuild kit with some new fluid. Its under 300 dollars of parts, just find a place that will do it fairly cheap, its not something you want to do yourself.

I don't need to do it just buy the ring and pinion, yay, I am a mechanic and my friends dad just bought all new equipment for doing gears yay! Heh, well I am glad I don't have to pay teh extra $500 (est) for the new casing, late.

I've seen a coupla the new Chargers around here. Few R/Ts. IMMHO, nothing all that impressive, but thats just me. Also seen about three or four of the new eclipses, a C6 every day, and two of the H3s...those just look odd.

Yes I went to HHHS, for 9th, then moved away, and then moved back years later. And yes I went to the car show and stayed till the end when everybody tore out. Did you happen to be there at the end when the railcar got pulled over by the cops? Or the fight broke out at Wendys? Good times!

Good run. Didn't know there were so many local people on here. I live in South Jersey, work in NE Philly. I like the new Chargers, should be a high 13 sec car with a decent driver. Can't wait for the SRT-8 Charger this fall. I saw a couple of them at the All Chrysler Nats, they're sweet, should be a high 12sec car, not bad for a four door family sedan :iceslolan
