how to program used remote control for my 2000 Mazda 626 LX

open door and sit down put key in ign.turn to on then off three times remove key and depress drivers door switch three times u shouold hear a chime now press the button on your remote that should work...i think if u do it all four times the car will do a self check on the keyless system

I have tried this several times - the car will chime but when I press the button on remote nothing happens - Any other suggestions? Thanks for your help
