Hello guys Well Today 2 freinds of mine raced one of em have 1996 Subaru Impreza 2.2L OutBack Manual with Air Intake And Catback other freind have 1994 Chevrolete Cavalier 2.2L Manual Muffler and no Cats And Cold Air Intake And the Car Is Stripped Its very light have only 2 seats and roll cage everythin else its taken out ! well today we did coupe of runs light to light 1st run light gose green bouth take off at the same time subaru got a fender from a jump shift to 2nd cavalier start pulling a littel at the end of 2nd Dead Even shift 3rd Cavalier start pulling well race ended cavalier front weels was at subaru front bumper almost dead even but cavalier was pulling a littel. 2nd race next light subaru didnt have good lunch it was dead even at lunch switch 2nd cavalier is pulling switch 3rd cavalier have a car on subaru/ Race 3 green light subaru take off first had a car from a jump till 3rd cavalier catched up it was dead even! it was fun runs cars is not fast at all but still it was fun. now my freind in Subaru want it to make faster and he dont know what he should put in it so cavalier wont pull on him after 3rd May be you guys can tell some stuff to put it make it littel faster nothin expencive tho just to make it more faster so cavalier wont pull on it.

i think a blood vessel in my eye blew open when i was reading that....what nationality are you gipergeon? and yes you read it had a roll cage....some people instead of modding would rather strip the hell out of something and make it alot lighter...shrugs*...i don't get the roll cage part though....maybe he races on the weekends???

Yup thats what I understood as well. I don't think a stripped cavvy with I/E will be going fast enough to NEED a roll cage.

The guy in the Cav has no need for a rollcage.

The guy in the Subaru should learn how to launch, because with AWD he should have had an easy early lead every single time. As far as the Cav catching up in 2nd or 3rd, it is because the Cav is FWD and has less drivetrain loss. The cars are pretty evenly matched, so it is to be expected that the Cav would catch up and pass him. I would suggest your friend with the Subaru look into an Underdrive pulley and headers. Both can be found relatively cheap and together will probably get him close to 20hp or so.

i agree, i was just saying that maybe a club like the SCCA or something like that might require rollcages??

You gotta figure if all they took out of the Cavalier was the back seats, carpet and trim, putting a roll cage in it added a whole lot more weight back in than they took out. Back seats, carpet/sound deadener, door cards, and even the trunk trim all together probably doesn't weigh 50 pounds.

Yea I agree theirs no Reason for roll cage and stripping the car but that car was Build for rally the boss at his work wanted to build a rally car but havent done anythin with the engine unfinish project so he gave him the car for free its Yellow with Green roff and red 39 number on the door's They Took Everythin is Possible from that car to make it lighter. the car is slow same as the subaru they bouth got owned by stock Windstar minivan lol.
