View Full Version : Noise From Front Axle Noise From Front Axle idspud26 07-29-2005, 01:36 AM I have now noticed that if I press down slightly on the brakes it goes away. I have replaced the calipers and brake pads. I don't know if a warped rotor could be it. HansonHVAC 07-29-2005, 02:52 AM My front end did the same thing when my u joints started to go bad. First it sounded like a tire rubbing but i couldnt see any signs of it. After it turned into more of a clunking sound i checked out the u joints and they needed to be replaced ramdriver 07-30-2005, 09:28 PM I had a similar sounding noise in my truck...try shifting into nuetral while rolling along slowly. If the noise stops then it is the shift linkage. It was suggested to me on this board to use WD40 every now and then or whenever the rubbing sound came back. It has been good ever since.
