I've got a 2000 tahoe LT and the "service 4WD" light just came on-any info on what this entails?? Big money or just a tune up?

If you do a search you will see that the 4wd switch is probably bad. Some people resolder the switch. I just replaced it with a new one and the light has been off all summer.
