Hi, I am new to this forum. So I have a few questions to start, and probaly will have a few hundred in the end.

The story starts here, yesterday I purchased a 1973 Datsun 240Z(pictures to follow). I paid $550 for the car and delivery. The car itself has some issues, like rust around the door, hood, etc. There isnt alot of it, interior is in decent condition. The console area needs most of the work for the interior section.

I plan on stripping it down to the frame and working my way up and out. My first question to the experts(you guys) is where can I find a airbox? All the ones I have found are for a 71-72, and then 78 and up. I can not find one for a 73. Any suggestions on where to look?

Second questions what is the best manual to use? I need a complete book for the entire car. I have found one on www.zcarparts.com and it seems to be good but I was hoping someone would have some experience with it. Before I purchase it.

Third question is where can I find some detailed pictures of the engine area. I have found really crappy photos everywhere but nothing this is a good overview. With some detail.

Last question for now, is can I twin turbo my car? Is it possible? does anyone make a kit for the car?

Thanks guy and sorry for being a pain in the ass.

As for resto parts, victoria british has just about everything. Go to there site and fill out some crap and theyll send you catalogs-i highly suggest you check them out.
and as for TTing the L24. anything is possible, i dont know if anyone has ever done it, hell maybe someone has. but not to my knowledge, but im sure you could built it custom yourself.
im sure some of the other guys can help some more.

why twins? why not a single biggun? and i recomend the catalog only as a reference youll probably find better prices almost anywhere else, and as for the air box why not go with a cone filter? are you tryng to stock restore it? for resale collectability or for personal? if you are goin to want performance than get a 3 inch stainless steel air filter from your local parts store (advanced usually has them instock)

but at any rate good luck and hope its all that you could dream of ibn a good way

TT'ing an L24? Don't. If you need boost go with an L28ET out of a 280ZX Turbo....

If you got the $$$ anything is possible...

But (and no offense) but if you are buying a $550 Datsun Z I'm sure and you had the $$$... then why not buy a Porsche?

I am not going for all out performance, but I would like to make it faster than it was originally. Why not a single, not really sure just saw so much talk about tt'ing made me kinda interested. This is going to be my baby till I pass it on or croke. What brand would you reccomend for the air filter from advanced?

No offense taken, thank you for your input.

To be honest with you time is not a issue so neither is money. If I want something for it it might wait a little while but I will buy it. This is not my main vehicle. I have a '05 Ram QC for that. This is my baby I am going to take my time and make it the way I want it. I live in New Hampshire so this car or a Porsche will only be good for about three or four months out of the year. I have had some experience in my eclipse which I burned second gear out of it trying to get up my hill that they do not sand ever.
