you need to have the ABS system scanned for codes before anyone here can help you. Without a code i can't even guess.

My 94 did the same thing. I just unhooked the NEG battery cable for 2 minutes, it reset the computer trouble codes and I have had no further trouble. This ha[ppened immediately after performing a complete front and rear brake job. All systems are working fine now, and no more annoying lights.

Get the codes read and I have some bad news.Take it to the dealer,Daimler Chrysler has their ABS information hush, hush.Diamler Chrysler has not released any info out to the public yet, greedy Germans.Only scan tool that will read the codes is their factory scan tool,DRB III.Only aftermarket scan tool that will read the codes is the Mastertech made by Vetronix.A Snap On,OTC scan tool will not read ABS codes from a Diamler Chrysler product

I am sure by now you probably have this figured out. If so, great! If not then this will help you and countless others that visit here. I had this same problem that occurred while pulling my tent trailer. It presents as the ABS and Brake light come on together. If it is identical then your speedometer will delay until you hit around 25-30 MPH and then it will kick in. There is a speed sensor mounted on top of your rear differential that will solve this problem. In my area it is a dealer item only and it cost about $45. It takes one wrench and about 10 min to install. Disconnect the clip, remove bolt with wrench. Reverse procedure to re install.

its your RWAL sensor. or Rear Wheel Anti-Lock sensor. it costs about 50-60 bucks. its the only sensor on the rear end. it comes out with 9/16 and a 1/2 inch wrench. your vehicle wheel speed sensor is tied in with this sensor as well so your speedometer will work when it wants to. I only know this bc by buddys dakota had the same problem. That plus I'm in college for Automotive Technologies and one of my instructors worked at the Dodge dealership for several years. He saw this problem with countless dodge trucks, dakota's and full size trucks.

Hi. I have this EXACT problem. I went to autozone, got a replacement for what I thought was the problem, changed it out. ABS and Brake lights are still on, and my speedometer doesnt kick in till reaching 25-30mph. The part that I was told to replace was located under the pan, about one foot benind the front axel. I have no idea if thats the right thing or not. Could you let me know? and if at all possible, could you take a picture? thank you sooo much!

[mrg00dwrench, you need to change the speed sensor mounted on top of your rear differential that will solve this problem.

I have the same problem where my ABS and brake light both came on at the same time while driving down the interstate. The codes I got are 35 Rear Sens Curcuit Failure and 37 Rear Sens Sig Erratic. Would this be the rear sensor on top of the rearend. I just want to make sure be for I buy the part.

Make sure to disconect neg battery cable for 30 sec to clear the code, then try again after you replace it.

Beleive it or not it's the fuse. At least thats what it was on my 96. Always try the simplest solution 1st.
