You need a book to know which wire is which but at the fuel pump(in tank) is where the wires hook up you need to unplug them take a paperclip and ground the right wire to a good metal ground with someone inside the car watching the gauge with the key on with it grounded the guage should go up towards full if it dont then its either in the wiring or the guage itself. If it moves when grounded then its the sending unit which is basically inside the fuel pump or its the float which is connected to the snding unit(they get holes in them and gas gets inside keeping the float from moving and making the guage move). Most of the time its the sending unit.So its wiring, guage itself, fuse, sending unit,or the float.Hope that helps

Firstly just check if there is any wires that are not connected. To do this, slowly check the bottom of the car if their is any wire hanging and just connect it with other wire with the help of connector.
While fuel gauge of your car is not working just be careful that you do not run out of gas.
