93 accord transmission any help please

New to this forum but any way here it goes.I have 1993 honda accord bought two years ago from "family"that was I quote well taken care of .Well since then I've replaced the engine ,valve cover gasket, carb ,muffler and all the pipes, brakes ,a tire ,oil pan casket now within the last 3 weeks my radiator blew ,replaced that, started over heating in traffic and replaced coolant switch.Now when when I'm in drive the d on the dashboard starts to blink talked to my mechanic and he thinks transmission is going .Should i ditch the car or does anyone think that after i get trans fixed that will be the end of this nightmare
