camber kits

so now that i can finally pay for some things on my car, i need to put my suspension in along with some new tires but i'm not ready to spend money on some decent summer tires if the camber from the suspension drop will wear them in 8000km. does anyone have camber kits on their cars? should i be able to find something on ebay? any reccommended companies?

thanks

SPLParts.com

Not only the best designed parts but in most cases the Cheapest.

I know they have RUCAs and could probably get you Cusco camber plates for the front... I dunno if they're Front Strut perch will work with shocks.

P.S. the Powertrix crap on Ebay will do if your a risk taker. I have heard of them cracking and the Heim Joints squeaking.

maybe i'm just technologically impaired but i can't find anything for the rear on splparts.com

edit: nevermind i found them

so should i be paying the $269 for the rear then $166 for the front?? is that all i'm gonna need?? i don't know enough about suspension

Thats all you need to control camber if you want to adjust toe and caster you'll need more links.

Sportlines dont get the car too low... have you tried aligning it with the stock links?

Chuki_breath

you shouldnt really need that. Just get an alignment for like 70 bux...i got coils and thats all it needs.

well then if i'm buying new tires, are they gonna wear on the inside a lot still?? i mean i'm dropping it 1.9" in the rear. i'm pretty sure there's gonna be some kind of camber problem but the question is how much. i'm not concerned so much about the front cause it seems to be the wheels that get power to that have the most camber problems. or maybe i'm completely wrong about that. i don't know. maybe i'll try it without the camber kit and see how things work and if i see more wear on the inside then i'll think about adding more.

ahahahha i spent 20 bucks and got some adjustable bolts that replace where the strut bolts to the hub.
good for a few degrees camber +/-
dont remember what brand they were but they were just bolts with a cam lobe on each so when you turned the bolt it would swing the strut/hub in or out.

D-Bo
07-26-2005, 10:41 AM
ok i know what you're talking about. all you have to do is replace the old ones with the new bolts and it'll help a little??

rears dont usually move that much. When i put my coils on....the rear practically didnt need adjustment. The front is what fucks up the most. Mine were like -3 degrees lol. The rear was like -1. Just get an alignment, im telling you man thats all you need.

what about these.

http://www.uniqueautos.com.au/pricelists/General/Suspension/ctrlarmbushes.jpg

"UAS REAR UPPER CONTROL ARM BUSHES
ADJUSTABLE URETHANE BUSH WITH OFFSET CAMBER PIN. THE BOLTS HAVE A PLINE TO ADJUST IN CAR. CAN BE USED FOR INNER AND OUTER TO GIVE AROUND 2.5 DEGREES OF ADJUSTMENT, OR 1 DEGREE IF ONLY PAIR IS USED.
PRICE: $95.00 PAIR "

and how does that work with more than 1 set being installed? is it one goes from the arm to the hub and one on the other side from the arm to the subframe? so 2 on each side to get more than 1 degree?

and if you have to buy 2 sets of those then it comes out to about the same price as these (http://www.jspec.com/tcrearupperarm.html), what would be the better buy? easiest install?

holy shitballs orestes, those look like they weigh 200lbs each..

thanks for doing the research and thanks for the info boys. what i did was order tires today and the bolts and we'll see how that goes with the 2.1F and 1.9R drop. i'll let you guys know

by the way, i ordered 195/50R15(F) 205/50R15(R) in toyo proxes 4 (all season performance tire - which sounds super :gay: but they're actually decent tires)

this link is for you lazy sob's

lol ya sorry for that gigantor pic. but any opinions on 2 sets of those rather than $200 adjustable RUCA's??

get your car alinged before you go out and start buying shit... I doubt you'll need Crash Bolts or RUCAs because of a 2in drop.

agree'd. been trying to say that. If they happen not to line up THEN you buy that shit....but they will so no worries.

RUCAs

yeah thats the real solution but im trying to be cheap but i dunno

from what i understand getting an alignment isnt going to help the rear all that much. i got tanabe coilovers and my car has pretty bad - camber in teh rear. btw i have a s14 and there is a crappy little oval shaped bolt that pushes the camber out a couple degres (maybe) but i dont know if they have them on the s13's. other than that i dont think anything will work unless you rig something up or get an adj camber kit. and ya rear tires tend to wear quicker especially if you spin them at all.

D-Bo
07-28-2005, 04:12 PM
that might be the whole difference though.. how much did you drop your s14 with the tanabes??

Chuki_breath
07-28-2005, 09:00 PM
If your car is slammed on the ground well duh it wont help. I did the alignment myself and only had to adjust one rear tire(it was one of those fancy alignment machines too...with the lasers and what not).....they didnt move at all really. the front is a different story. I have hicas too if that does anything i dont know......

orestes
07-28-2005, 11:53 PM
thats weird my front was off by 1 degree but the back was 3

Maybe your rear was already fucked.

R.W.240
07-29-2005, 01:12 PM
Just Break the shit out of your Stock RUCA so you get like 8 degrees of camber and then Rock 19x12.5 -11 on stock fenders -Straight Gangsta VIP-

you could so trash on Driftking777 "puny 17x10s I cough in your general direction."

Camber is one of those things... go all or go home

D-Bo
07-29-2005, 02:59 PM
i'm gonna see how this works and if i notice bad camber then i'll think about buying some rucas but i'm not worried.. apparently a 2" drop won't tear my new tires apart by november

btw what do you guys think about falken tires? i heard they're loud but sticky

AWDSR20
07-29-2005, 07:07 PM
get no man bradz... cheap and almost as sticky

D-Bo
07-31-2005, 02:47 PM
get what?

AWDSR20
07-31-2005, 08:34 PM
Federall super steel 535... i know they sound funny but they grip like hell!! u can leave ur finger nail impression on the tier even when its cold! (plz, that is by no mean a way to tell a good compund from a bad one, its just a figure of speech!)

240SXSlideStar
08-01-2005, 01:02 AM
Yeah, but soft like that they must wear out in a like a week.

slideways...
08-01-2005, 02:39 AM
if you can find falken azenis sports get them
very cheap, and very sticky
but they are kind of heavy
the new tires that replaced them are the falken st615 and i havent heard too much about them except one guy i know who autox'es frequently says they are good

if you want stick, and have $, go get michelin pilot sport cup or yok a032R

if you have less $ get BFG gforce KD

cheap bastards go get azenis (like me)

drift tires---any mid level zrated luxury performance tire works really well with an underpowered car.
otherwise any tire that breaks away gradually and predictably for your power level
dunlop sport sp8000s work well, as do falken st115, and BFG gforce sports(or whatever the entry-level G-force tire is called) and bridgestone potenza re750

Yeah, but soft like that they must wear out in a like a week.

no! those tiers cost me $250 installed!!!! 225 50 16 all-round... and I grip hella good, I’m a bit faster in turns, and the response is allot better then the other no name brad I had (geostar).. of course a michlen pilot and all that good stuff is better, but for $250, can't go wrong!

Dude, d tiers are made for daily driving, did u think that no name brand is like a type r compound? hell no, but azaines will cost like $400 and u will hydro plane on h20..

i don't get, people, everyone wants azaines soo baad...

R.W.240

Falken ST-115s are what I got for my front... I'll prolly be using crap used tires in the rear for a while.

the RT-615s are cool as hell.

D-Bo
08-01-2005, 08:46 PM
i ordered the ZE-512's. they're all season performance which is fine for my needs.

haha yeah i guess so.. whatever these were cheap and will fit my rims so i'm happy with them

240SXSlideStar
08-02-2005, 05:43 PM
What's the best size to fit on stock rims? This week there's a deal on the Dunlop SP A2 at my store, anyone know if these are any good?

D-Bo
08-02-2005, 07:13 PM
they're not bad.. geared more for winter than the tires i'm buying.. still a good tire though

240SXSlideStar
08-02-2005, 11:09 PM
More for winter? Half the thread is just flat, there are barely any grooves.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Dunlop&tireModel=SP+Sport+A2

this picture makes it look more like a real all season tire.. but you'll do fine with them. the ratings for the tire are all at the bottom

I have the Falken Ziex ZE512s I like them so far but Sears only had them in 195/65/15 so im thinking that on my SE wheels theres a little camber and its wearing them on the inside....only reason I noticed was that I took off the tire and was replacing brake pads and the thing wouldnt stay up on its own showing that one side was worn...Im getting ready to put on my Megan Racing Coilovers and lets hope that I wont have like -7 Camber it looks like I have -1 - -3 right now
