All the comments about snow aside, my own experience last winter on 1/4" of wet snow in North Carolina with 10,000 miles on the stock tires was pretty awful. I now have 20,000 miles and have asked a couple of dealers for recommendations, saying I was more interested in winter traction than "performance." The suggestions I got were:
