View Full Version : Help with GTA3 Mission Help with GTA3 Mission CorvetteMan 04-28-2002, 11:09 AM crxlvr 04-28-2002, 10:09 PM get the truck in any part of town and drive it in nicely but quickly, put it at the back of the plant in between the two silvery things and arm the bomb and rush the hell out run towards the right hand side of the building first to avoid the blast, then just hop in the truck that is intact and drive through the gates, mission over. CorvetteMan 04-29-2002, 06:35 PM Ok, I got past that one, but I am stuck on the one where you have to blow up the ship. Please tell me what should I do and who I shoot first.Thanks. crxlvr 04-29-2002, 08:48 PM damn, id say by far one of the toughest in the game but ill try to explain the best i can. After the cut scene ends and you are facing towards the boat, turn right and run past the air duct things until you reach the wharehouse, at the front of the wharehouse are steps leading up it, climb up and get onto the roof, and head back towards the direction of the boat, go as far to the edge without falling off and bust out the sniper rifle. Zoom in on the gaurd to your left at the bottom of the ramp leading up. Line up a perfect head shot and hold your breath, as you will need a good eye and quick reflexes after this. Once you fire off the shot into the left gaurd the right guard will move upto the truck and start firing at you, as well as 8-ball charging in. Take out the second guy behind the truck, and move your sights up the ramp to the next guard behind the boxes. After you kill him, quickly, but accuratly sweep from left to right on the screen killing anyone that moves(dont shoot 8-ball tho!!!). if you kill them all there will be another cut-scene, and then mission over. Tip: if any one guard takes you more than 1 shot to kill, chances of success are minimal at best. keep a good eye. CorvetteMan 04-29-2002, 09:22 PM Thanks I will try this. But when I get to Portland Harbor I have to get in the blue then 8-ball says follow me.and what your saying is that i should run up the steps though and not follow him right? Also I have another question, when do you get to go to another island? How far am i away from getting to go? crxlvr 04-29-2002, 10:00 PM once 8-ball leaves you, forget him, he is usless to the rest of the mission, just make sure you dont kill him or let someone kill him, or else u need to start it all over. as far as the next and final goes, from what i remember its not that far off, if you are upto that mission, i dont think there are many more maybe 1-2 that need to be completed after wards to get to the next island. After that you go to the salvatore again , and he tels you that he'll give you money and everything , but only one more mission , you drive to some car around luigi's club , and as you get closer , asuka calls on your pager telling you that it's a set up and the car is a bomb , so you go to her and her friend , take the boat and go to the second island... I think so... I don't remember i finished the game a long long time ago Morpheus XIII 05-03-2002, 05:50 AM Originally posted by Tom_S8 After that you go to the salvatore again , and he tels you that he'll give you money and everything , but only one more mission , you drive to some car around luigi's club , and as you get closer , asuka calls on your pager telling you that it's a set up and the car is a bomb , so you go to her and her friend , take the boat and go to the second island... I think so... I don't remember i finished the game a long long time ago This mission is called "Last Requests" and it's not Asuka, but Maria (Don Salvatore Leone's girl) who pages you to tell you that the car is set up as a trap. But this is superfluous to CorvetteMan's query. OK on the "Bomb da Base act II" mission, where you have to escort 8-ball, you are going to have to cheat a bit. While you are driving to the port, pickup a Patriot (Humvee) or other nearby wide truck and stop at the highlighted blue area 'checkpoint'. After 8-ball tells you to find a good vantage point, drive a little back and there should be another parked cargo truck. Alternate and drive both your 1st truck and the 2nd truck about 15 ft. each to where 8-ball normally hides behind the box before you fire the first shot (if you dont alternate, when you come back, one truck will be missing due to game vehicle reset defaults). If you can manage to drive both trucks to that place, you will have a total of 3 trucks including the truck that was already parked by 8-ball's hiding spot. Then very carefully, park all 3 trucks in a square (using the fixed cargo box where 8-ball hides behind) so that 8-ball cannot leave his starting point! At this point you are free to shoot all of the Cartel on the ship without having to worry about 8-ball getting hit. But BE ADVISED, 8-ball will eventually free himself from the 4 wall trap of trucks and a box (even as a pedestrian you can push parked vehicles very slowly), so you have limited time to kill the defending Cartel, but significantly more time to do so. After this mission, you will be set against the Mafia and their car bomb mentioned earlier, and then you will be transported to Staunten Island. Good luck! (BTW, how many of you have played GTA and GTA2? This game, GTA3, is more like the "Driver" series on PSX, than GTA. Oh well, still a great game, and don't forget to play State of Emergency, also by Rockstar!) crxlvr 05-03-2002, 10:25 PM i dont cheat so i gave him the correct way of beating this board, but good thinking nonetheless, anyway, ive played all three gta's and this 3rd example as bits of driver in it, but in driver 1 at least you couldnt get out of the car, and the missions werent as in depth. Ive tried playing this game in the top down mode, but it is very hard compared to the gta1 and 2 games. oh well still a great game. CorvetteMan 05-04-2002, 09:54 AM Hey guys give me some tips on the next on.please.I have just beat "da base" and need tips on the next one.  :D :sun: CorvetteMan 05-04-2002, 12:29 PM ok now i need help killing salvatore.thanks. :D  :sun: crxlvr 05-04-2002, 10:09 PM i dont even remember what the mission was: but here is the way to do it from www.gamefaqs.com Before beginning this mission, I suggest you explore Staunton Island and take in the pretty sights. Also, make sure you know the fastest route from Asuka's condo to the Callahan Bridge. Chart a small route for yourself. This mission requires you to travel from Staunton to Portland in a certain amount of time. I like this mission. Yep, I do...Grab a car and start heading towards the dot on the radar. Grab a Sniper Rifle at Ammu-Nation as you pass by it. Head back the bridge back to Portland. Continue to follow the dot to get to Luigi's club. If you hang around outside, the mission fail, so go into the alleyway beside the building, straight across from the club. There is a flight of stairs here. Follow them to the roof. Position yourself in the corner, so that you can see the entrance to the club perfectly. Now, wait. Around the time that he's supposed to be leaving the club, several Mafia men will be filing out from the entrance. Soon after, Salvatore will follow. Before he enters the Mafia Sentinel, put one shot through his head and the mission will be complete. His body guards will just disperse and walk away. Hehe. Since Salvatore is a chickenwuss, he'll order a slew of men toting automatics to guard him. Don't let them see you before Salvatore leaves the club or they will bite onto your crotch and never let go. Morpheus XIII 05-06-2002, 05:51 AM Originally posted by crxlvr i dont cheat so i gave him the correct way of beating this board, but good thinking nonetheless... I don't like cheating either, but my choice of words, mainly "cheat", were somewhat subjective depending on what a person considers cheating to be. The way I see it, if the game's physics allow it and it's not a factory implemented code, then it's okay, just unorthodox. But codes, GameShark paraphenalia, etc. are what really should be considered cheating. Of course, nothing is more rewarding than doing it the right way, but then "killing ethics" (wouldn't that phrase be an oxymoron?!) come into play in this particular mission. Why? Hell, if I had a sniper rifle to take out the ship's guards, I would tell 8-ball to hang back until I've cleared all of them before proceeding with the bombing. Why take-off after the first shot? Moronic! (I know, I know, it's a game and this is sort of like a "boss" mission for the first island, so it has to be difficult). But I still don't consider this to be cheating. If I really wanted to cheat, I would press R2, R2, L1, R2, left, down, right, up, left, down, right, up, to get some gnarly weapons and take out the Cartel the easy way, but that's no fun. This mission requires you to travel from Staunton to Portland in a certain amount of time. There cannot be enough emphasis on this bit of advice. Staunton Island is unfortunately not as perpendicular as Portland and in many places is "two-story". You may find yourself right under or over your destination, but without any nearby way to get to the other floor. The best thing to do is not only memorize landmarks, but simply explore, as the excerpt mentioned. Ando_Rules 06-26-2002, 08:24 AM ok no offense but how can u need help for every mission (im not being mean to u ok) i mean i just passed the game in 1hour 30 mins like every mission phone and boss, and i have only played the game for 3 days. i just wanted to say something no offense towards anyone crxlvr 06-26-2002, 04:07 PM well some people might have a harder time trying to figure out the puzzles and shit, and not to hate, but im gonna raise a Bullshit flag on the fact you ran through every mission in this game in an hour and change, its impossible. Ando_Rules 06-29-2002, 11:23 AM well not exactly an hour but close to it my frined finished it in a hour and 55 mins which is preety hard to do but on my first try i got. it is possible but very hard i cant do it but i can get it done in around 2 hour-2 1/2 hours if i do nothing else it takes bout maybe 35 mins to pass joeys and lugis missions if u do nothing else and tonys take like 25 mins, then slavators take bout 10 mins, then well akusa (condo)and kenji and ray mission take bout 45 mins, then akusa (construction) and donald loves mission take like 35-50 mins, then the last mission tokill catilina take like 5-10 mins, round that up its like 21/2 hours or a little more YellowMaranello 06-30-2002, 09:38 PM Originally posted by CorvetteMan Ok, I got past that one, but I am stuck on the one where you have to blow up the ship. Please tell me what should I do and who I shoot first.Thanks. I know its way too late to answer this, but to do this mission I ran 8-ball over with a truck and left him under there. I don't know if it gave me any extra time or not, but I got the mission done that time. Give it a shot. crxlvr 07-01-2002, 05:20 PM the easiest way to do that mission is too box 8-ball in like mentioned before, then if you have the rocket launcher, just fire all over the place until you kill everyone.
