how many psi of boost would a 280 zxt 83 produce before the heat generated is greater than that of the power??
as in what is the highest recomended psi to boost a 280 turbo too
not the motor but the turbo its self...
im wondering if i should rebuild it and use it for my 300 or just keep the stocker for now
any input would be apericiated

well I know that if you have a filter and exhaust and an MBC running, you can safely boost the 84 to about 8 PSI maybe even 10 if you're very carefull and it's a cool day, but I wouldn't recommend going higher than that w/o an intercooler.... sorry but IDK anything about the 83, good luck!

i boosted my 84 to 12.5 psi without intercooler but that was dead of winter...
im wondering if the compressor side of the turbo of an 83 is maybe a little bigger....
also thats with a 3" manderal bent exhaust, 3"stainless steel intake, everything wrapped to heck (exhaust) with heat wrap, externally mounted spring for mbc, hipo plugs and wires, coil, synthetic oil with oil cooler just before turbo, elec. fan in place of mechanicle, no pwr steering, no ac compressor, tricked ecu into thinking fuel was hot for added fuel, rising rate fuel pressure regulator, and a few more in there elsewhere
