My box under my drivers seat is shorting out and clicking until my batter dies... what is it for and will my car run without it? I have manual seats so i don't understand why it's there?

I've wondered about the black box too. I figure it's for the seat belt alarm and automatic shoulder harness.

That's kinda what i figured, but there sure is alot of wires and two plugs so I wasn't really sure. Do you know if the car will start with them unplugged?

I don't think it would affect starting. Try it and see. If you disconnect the box please rememberr to wear your seatbelt :nono:

Found out, the car will run without it... problem ended up being a battery with a dead cell, autozone exchanged it and the problem's gone.
I always wear my seat belt, but thanks for the concern and the help.
