Transmission not shifting rightmightymouse466 07-24-2005, 01:28 AM There is a problem with the transmission on my 98 taurus. When I start driving it after is has sat for a while it will not shift up out of low gear for a couple of blocks. The engine will run up to 5000 rpms or so and not shift. Then after a couple of blocks it shifts up, and hard. It only does it when it has not run for a while. Is this just a sensor or something else wrong with the tranny? Anyone got any ideas? KimMG 07-24-2005, 02:10 AM Did you check the fluid level? mightymouse466 07-24-2005, 01:23 PM Did you check the fluid level? Yes, that was the first thing I checked. Guess I should have added that to the original question. treblig00 08-05-2005, 09:11 PM Yes, that was the first thing I checked. Guess I should have added that to the original question. What did you find out about this problem, mine 94 is doing the same thing. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
