2003 Camry sunroof leaks - having trouble getting it fixed

I have a 2003 Toyota Camry. The sunroof leaks anytime the smallest amount of water hits it - a constant drip in several places. The drains are not clogged and everyone says the seal looks fine. I've taken it to be fixed at the nashville dealership where i bought it and they gave me the runaround. The lake charles dealership adjusted it for 8 total hours and then told me "it's designed to leak"; But i thought that is what seals are supposed to prevent. Can anyone tell me if this is true and what i can possibly do to get it fixed.

He's right.

The reason Toyota's have never had the sun-roof problems most makers (use to) have. Is that it is designed to leak.

Depending on the car, they use between four to six drain lines.

I agree with the tech. The seal keep the majority of the water out. The drains empty everything else out under the car. More than likely the drains are clogged and you couldn't find it. ;)

Is it likely that the trays will rust from the water leaking? Because i have seen a 2003 Honda Accord that started rusting from the sunroof leaking.

And there are two bolts in mine that have started rusting. Thats why i'm worried.

If it's still under warranty and you feel you are getting the run-around at the dealership, call Toyota corporate at 1-800-331-4331 and speak to a customer service representative about the problem.
