Alright my parents finally gave me the Civic (yay). I already planned out i'm going to buy a wings west body kit blah blah blah, 3 thousand dollars worth of blah. But one problem, its an automatic, I can't stand automatic cars, theres no fun it driving, do my question is, how much money would it take to transfer an Automatic 1995 Civic Dx to 5 speed manual?

I asked this myself before, as I have an auto '95 myself. Although mine is an EX, I suspect that the price isn't much different. You are looking at $1000-$4000 depending on who you get the parts from and who does the labor. You could get the tranny for about $1200 I believe, then the rest is all labor...

how bout getting a B16b2 engine while you're at it? shouldn't run more than 3,000 for engine and the transmission.

That was supposed to be my other question, what kind of an engine should I buy while i'm at it, I want some thing with power but can fit into the lil thing.

check around junk yards... you should be able to find a manual tranny there... also just find out if you can sell your auto tranny to them... sometimes you can get a really good deal.

a nice cheap motor swap for you would be a B18B.. look at the B18B Swap thread on this board for more info

if you want some more displacement, go with the b20 engine. just get the second generation of the CRV engine or else you're gonna have a hard time putting the intake manifold in. best of all, they don't cost as much. i would say ~$2000

get a b20 engine and match it up with a civic SI or an integra GSR tranny. they should bolt together nice and neatly

Havent been to GBC in a LOOOOOONG time. Dont have time for such non-sence anymore... too busy doing REAL stuff then having to answer "does it come with a tranny. can I get just the tranny, can I just get an ECU, can I just masterbate cause I dont have enough money to buy a swap but im going to waste your time with stupid questions" :finger:

Okay, that was a little over the edge -- but that seriously is how it gets! Its crazy, just dont have time for anything anymore... :o

Personally, I'd throw up a big "FOR SALE" sign in the windshield of the dx and wouldn't waste money changing out the tranny from auto to 5spd and then spending more money on an engine swap. Save yourself the time, sell the car, and start out with at least 1/2 of what you want.

Well I already have to civic, and already bought body kit and ect, so what things would I need to buy for the conversion to manual? And how much approximatly will I be spending on the conversion?

Ask your parents to pay for it

But anyways, go to your local mechanic and ask him/her. No one on this board has the prices for every single mechanic.

Plus, GSTeg...what in sam hell is a B16B2??!?! B16A2 exists, B16B2 doesn't.

My friend just got his auto Integra converted to manual for $1500. And be sure to take it to somebody who's done it before. And IMO, converting a Civic DX to manual isn't worth it unless your doing a swap at the same time.
