i just bought a 99 tahoe and the guy who had it before me put a white face plate over the guages. The needles light up and you can somewhat see the 4 little gauges to the right but you cant read the speedometer or the rpm guage. How do you get in there to take it out or to put a new bulb in. Do you take off the whole face of the dash? Help would be appreciated. THANKS!

Yes. Disconnect the battery.

You take the main plastic cover off. Then you have screws you need to take off off that clear piece that covers the cluster panel. Then you take the 4 screws holding the cluster panel itself.

Once you pull the cluster panel out, you will need to open it in half (its two pieces). You will see everything there.

Be careful because there are little plugs back there and you could easily accidently stop your odometer or mess up something else.
