R.I.P. James "Scotty" DoohanGAWKY 07-20-2005, 06:22 PM Sad, sad day ...Montgomery Scott or Scotty the Chief engineer of the U.S.S. Enterprise on the Orig. Star Trek passed away earlier today :crying: :( You will never be forgotten "One to beam up" :frown: http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/500/201802scotty.jpg http://www.startrek.com/startrek/view/news/article/12920.html Knifeblade_03 07-20-2005, 07:09 PM Yeah, just heard it. Sad, I liked him. goat_launcher 07-20-2005, 07:24 PM :( I just heard it as well. Geez, What a bummer - this basically sets a damper on the rest of my night. I'm just gonna chill at home, play some Floyd and reflect, then watch the Star Trek IV DVD. I guess God decided it his time to be "beamed up". :sadwavey: Heep 07-21-2005, 03:53 AM I'm actually halfway through the original series movies at the moment - 4 is next. That makes 2 of the original cast gone now... fredjacksonsan 07-21-2005, 09:26 AM Warp speed, Mr. Scott. CivRacer95 07-21-2005, 09:37 AM "Beam him up Goddy". K that was lame, but I had to. He will be missed. How many remain now? The original cast that is... fredjacksonsan 07-21-2005, 09:41 AM Only Scotty and Doc McCoy have gone, the rest are still here. In true "Star Trek" fashion, all the crew members will disappear, then Capt Kirk will be alone. Ace$nyper 07-21-2005, 07:44 PM thats sad he was a cool man in real life from everything I read. RIP James Doohan dugie6551 07-22-2005, 01:59 PM Just a couple comments: 1. He was raised in my hometown of Sarnia, Ontario, CANADA!! and went to my old high school (SCITS). I met him a couple years ago for our high school reunion. He was a cool guy !! 2. I heard he was going to have his ashes blasted into space .... guess it's going to be his final "beam me up" !!! 240NIZ 07-22-2005, 02:49 PM Always liked him...thought he was one of the better characters in the TV series and movies. Heep 07-22-2005, 10:44 PM I met him a couple years ago for our high school reunion. He was a cool guy !! Haha, that's awesome, he actually went to his high school reunion... Knifeblade_03 07-23-2005, 01:05 AM Yeah, he seemed like the kind of guy you could have a few pints with and talk for hours about anything with. Steel 07-25-2005, 12:27 PM Well, I'm kinda glad he's passed finally. The last couple of years has been a struggle for that guy. His mind was just disintegrating. It was sad to see. speeddemonGtV6 07-25-2005, 03:11 PM Great actor, my dad had me watch a few episodes when i was growing up and i got hooked i was sad when i heard it on the news.. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
