My 96 Taurus/Sable air bags blew. I replaced the bags but not the module. The air bag light flashes code 24. Can the module be reset/repaired or does it also need to be replaced ??.

According to the air bag diagnostic code list, code 24 indicates the safing sensor output feed/ return circuit is open. The safing sensor is located in the air bag module.

I have found out that a 96 air bag module only works for that year. The 96 passenger side air bag has an extra set of wires for a pressure switch.
