Just bought a 97 cx hb and want a tech!Nitrocool 04-27-2002, 12:35 AM I really would like to have a techometer next to the speedometer. Is the cx wired for a tech? If so what would I need to install one, my friend works at a honda dealership so he could hook me up with parts. Thanks in advance. igo4bmx 04-27-2002, 12:44 AM Originally posted by Nitrocool I really would like to have a techometer next to the speedometer. Is the cx wired for a tech? Generally, its possible to swap out the complete cluster with another one from the same generation. (example ex cluster) i'm not sure about exact wiring schematics, but you can always get a helms or something and get the engine speed sensor 1995HondaCivic 04-27-2002, 08:50 AM its all plug and play, piece of cake! :) GhettoLegs 04-27-2002, 02:46 PM Instead of swapping the whole gauge cluster, I bought a 3.5 inch tachometer and mounted it on my steering column. It worked out great (until someone stole it)... you just wire it to your speed sensor wire (blue with white line in my case), then ground it and send a current through the positive wire for the backlighting. dome 04-29-2002, 10:20 AM Originally posted by Nitrocool I really would like to have a techometer next to the speedometer. I agree with ghettolegs, just get an aftermarket tach. I have a 3 3/4" VDO Performance tach with shift light and it looks nice without being too big. JayFidizzy 04-29-2002, 01:06 PM Hey dome....did you ever get your apexi ws? dome 04-29-2002, 02:38 PM Got the WS and I love it. I've had it for about two or three weeks and it is actually more quiet than I thought...in a good way. I had the A'pex dunk before and loved the sound, but on long drives the droning was annoying. The WS is perfect and it looks better too IMO. I feel only a marginal difference in acceleration, but it does feel more responsive at both low RPM and WOT. My only problem is there is a slight rattle coming at idle and when I hit a bump. It is low, but annoying and only comes when the car is warmed up. I think oneof the hangers is rubbing but I haven't narrowed it down yet. I'll post pics as soon as I figure out how to do it. JayFidizzy 04-29-2002, 03:03 PM Its definately a hanger....I had a rattling problem with me short shifter...but once I threw on the apexi that rattle went away. I love how quiet it is...and sounds even nicer especially when i'm on the highway in a lower gear. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
