I was driving my car this morning and smoke started coming in through my driver side vents and the defrost vents. It only lasted about 15-20 seconds but im curious about this, any help would be appreciated.

Was it smoke (dark) or fog (steam)?

From what I saw, it looked like smoke, almost like i took a cigarrette and blew the smoke out through the vents or something.

Was it when the A/C was just starting to get cold? Can you relate it to some action on your part, like starting the A/C or turning on the blower or anything?

I had turned the A/c off a minute or so before it started doing it. I had the fan on fresh air.

Oil is burning in the engine bay. The pick-up for the vents is located at the bottom of the windshield - where the wipers are.

Smoke comes out of the engine bay into the cabin through that.

Thanks a lot! I can feel better now that I know.

It seems to be fairly common in older cars for oil to be burnt a bit at times...
