I was told before I drove it that it had a exhaust leak that would be fixed. I started it up and there was a HUGE exhaust leak, so that was a understatement. Anyway, I drove it out and as soon as I hit the stop sign it puttered and felt like it was going to die. I gave it gas and off I went. I noticed that when I left off the accerlator that the RPM's would be around 1000 - 1200 then very quickly drop to 0 and flutter between 100 - 1000. I drove it around more and when I pulled into a parking lot it completely died. It died twice more when I came to two more stops on the way back to it's home. I heard someone say it might be a timing issue, I'm not a mechanic, I can do things if I have a step by step guide but besides that I'm worthless. Anyone have any suggestions on what this could be? If you have any more questions please let me know and I'll try to provide whatever I can. Another issue - when I step on the accerlator the AC pressure drops (like a the fan just stops). Someone mentioned this could be a electronic issue but I saw a post on here about vaccum problems? Anyway if everyone could give me their two cents I would apperciate it scrankshaw 07-19-2005, 10:57 PM Rough idle under load, not in park or neutral, also caused by a faulty EGR system (valve & sensor) . Had the same problem with my 95 Ram 5.9L which took weeks to troubleshoot. Not sure I understand your AC problem when accelerating.
