problem: clutch pedal goes down to floor and only comes back up with assistance. can't shift gears cause of this.

2 days ago my 90 NA 300zx's clutch pedal lost its "pressure" and when i barely tap the pedal the damn things clings to the floor. this happend as i was turning out of oreily's auto parts to turn around back home. so i went into the store to tell them my car is stuck there, the guy in there told me that hes for sure that its the master cylinder that went out.(he checked the fluid and there was some there). today i checked to see if there was any fluid and its not there. could the master cylinder be okay and there be a leak causing the loss of pressure somewhere in the system? or does fluid dissapppear somehow when the master cylinder goes bad? and if it is the master cylinder, does anyone know of a link or something that can help me on replacing the master cyl. as a diy'er?

thanks.

Sounds like your Clutch line... Could be the master cylinder as well. Replace it all.

yeah, it could be anything in the clutch system. but beings that you said you lost fluid, makes me think you have a nice sized leak. fill it up and pump the clutch...see where its leaking.
