anybody ever pull a 180 or 360 after pulling the parking brake???????rendog24 04-26-2002, 07:48 PM i thought that i would experiment so i was driving with my friend, going bout 25-30 down a residential street and i pulled the parking brake and did a 180 and ended up perfectly parallel parked on the other side of the street. it was pretty exciting. anybody else ever try this.:D onesojourner 04-26-2002, 07:52 PM i used to do it all the time like this (http://www.angelfire.com/emo/onesojourner) but its to hard on tires so i stopped doing it sparq 04-26-2002, 08:06 PM Yeah and I also do 100 mph in 2nd gear -- and also dump the clutch at like 6500 rpm  Frostbyte 04-26-2002, 08:36 PM I did a 360 before. I have a friend that get this did 2 360's and then recovered it. He was in an older rx7 it was bad ass. He does 360's all the time but he told me that was the first time he had ever done 2 of them. This was at a street race and I was pissed that I did not get it on tape. VTEC_boi 04-26-2002, 09:01 PM reckless driving that could result in my car flipping and killing myself and my friend or hitting another car...hmm... Let's go for it! If you are going to do it, do it in a parking lot and not with someone else in the car. CivSiGuy 04-26-2002, 09:54 PM if you've ever crashed.... and doing this probably will make you crash... you'll never do it. Sure you did it once, probably wont happen again. Let's not be stupid. rendog24 04-26-2002, 09:56 PM i heard that if you pull the parking brake a lot then it can ruin the brake. it will start to get real loose. is this true? CivSiGuy 04-26-2002, 10:00 PM Originally posted by rendog24 i heard that if you pull the parking brake a lot then it can ruin the brake. it will start to get real loose. is this true? yes it is true. It'd be the equivalent of driving w/ it engaged. The ol' 84 blazer has no eBrake at all because its been driven a few times w/ it engaged 91AcrdMan 04-26-2002, 10:05 PM yeah it can get loose after a lot of use like this. its not really ment to be engaged on a moving axel unless of an emergency... hence the name. but yeah its a lot of fun to do. best to do it in the dirt that way you dont have to worry about your car flipping... just slides... used to minor in auto-X'in with some friends on the weekends on some mountain roads. but yeah its dangerous and you shouldnt do it unless you are REALLY good at driving. rendog24 04-26-2002, 10:06 PM i think that will be the last time i do that unless i am in an open parking lot cuz we almost hit a tree like stupids.:D xivera 04-26-2002, 10:32 PM I started off w/ powerslides (cuz FWD don't really drift... :() Very few 180's... No 360's. Now, I'm trying to get this "left-foot braking" technique though... really weird... dreemkill 04-27-2002, 12:18 AM i drive around like that sometimes... its definatly different! my friend shawn has it perfected i think... last i knew he said he has it down Originally posted by xivera I started off w/ powerslides (cuz FWD don't really drift... :() Very few 180's... "......SWEET!!" hehehehe it was fun :D sparq 04-27-2002, 12:28 AM Baily Rd eh? :flipa: ric 04-27-2002, 02:17 AM i pulled a 900 before while racing some other car. i wanted to do a powerslide into a turn to ditch this guy and i ended up hitting a bunch of wet leaves and doing a full 900 landing parallel parked the opposite way on the other side of the street in front of a cop. it was insane, the cop didnt even have to turn the car on or move a bit. just flick the lights on and get out. sparq 04-27-2002, 01:59 PM Rick, do I dare ask how much that ticket cost? drift 04-27-2002, 02:46 PM i've spun my car many times without the e-brake... always happens on the way out of a lefthand turn at 50mph. i tend to get a bit happy on the throttle and let off too late. kidrocket 04-27-2002, 03:59 PM many times in my beetle. I used to be able to get it into parking spots that way. of course there were no other cars Phr0st 04-27-2002, 05:32 PM I bet the cops really like you, don't even have to put their donuts down or anything. :D Originally posted by ric i pulled a 900 before while racing some other car. i wanted to do a powerslide into a turn to ditch this guy and i ended up hitting a bunch of wet leaves and doing a full 900 landing parallel parked the opposite way on the other side of the street in front of a cop. it was insane, the cop didnt even have to turn the car on or move a bit. just flick the lights on and get out. brandonf 04-28-2002, 01:20 PM the best is to do it on snow:evillaugh dreemkill 04-28-2002, 07:54 PM yeah, baily rd in huntersville nc... it goes through an apartment complex/subdivision thingy then comes out on to...umm...ummm.....the road that connects cornelius to huntersville... its a state highway, like, NC 7 or something. not the baily rd in liverpool...that'd be a horrible place to pull a 180!! Otherwise you'll have to put your car in reverse and look stupid. threethirteen 04-29-2002, 11:56 AM you poor suckers who dont get snow in your warm climates. ive pulled like 1080s before in huge open parking lots with about two inches of snow...there is nothing more exciting. hit about 60 and just rip the ebrake, then let off and use the foot brake, then ebrake, then foot...you get the picture...if the snow is slippery enough you can go forever..a little dizzying though... i dont think i would ever do it on pavement though...too risky...well, maybe at 20.. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
