1995 3.0l ?slammedscion 07-19-2005, 02:47 AM I have a friend out of state so i have no way of checking her car. I am not familar with this model and was wondering if anyone could help me out? Hers what she told me. While she was driving it shut off and the check engine light stayed on and didnt blink. Her steering wheel became hard to turn, brakes became hard, and she had no accelarater pedal at all. It took 4-5 times to jump and kept shuting off and had to be jumped a few times on her way to get the car home. It leaked some power steering fluid and when she would turn the wheels there would be a hum/buzz sound. If you can help i would appreciate it. way2old 07-19-2005, 09:00 PM Sounds to me like the alternator has quit. She probably had no power steering because the engine had died. The lights will come on just like turning the key on without starting the engine. slammedscion 07-19-2005, 09:45 PM she had her alternater and battery tested and they were fine. could this be her egr valve,O2 sensor, plugs or plug wires or maybe even her fuel pump? KimMG 07-20-2005, 03:33 AM If the battery is really good, then are the cables? How are the connections to the alternator, the alternator belt? Was the battery and alternator tested in the vehicle or out of the vehicle? The only reason I can think of for jumping a vehicle is a weak battery or charging system. slammedscion 07-20-2005, 07:03 PM I found out what it was its some electrical wire leading to the fuel system but she couldnt remember the name. Thanks for your help though. Ironmike215 08-12-2005, 02:03 AM only other input i have is that the hum is probably the power steering pump (if its only when the wheels are turned), my 93' 3.0L wagon does it, my stepfathers 95' did it, my cousins 92 taurus does it, it's just the pumps ford uses. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
