power loss in my 96 accentEBR 07-19-2005, 01:36 AM Hi there I am new to this site and to Hyundai's . I have always owned hondas. Anyways I have a 96 Accent GT. 1.5 Litre, 5 spd, it is a Dual Overhead Cam engine. In the morning it runs fine. When I leave work to come home it will loose power and almost quit. If I feather the gas pedal I can keep it running but it dosnt have enough power to keep running when the clutch is relased. Then all of a sudden full power then none again. There are not any codes stored in its memory. I can feel the problem at highway speeds aswell. Doing 110 Kph(60 -65Mph) I feel it slowing down then all of a sudden it powers back up again. I am just curious if anybody else has had a similar problem and what it might be? I can be emailed @ dl_mckelar@shaw.ca Thanks for your time DAREN Hyundai 1 01-05-2006, 11:21 AM i have same car check the alternator output should read 14.4volts as it sounds like the alternator is failing hence loss of power the kicks in again power back thats the only thing that will cause the car to lose power. bBoYLXIX 01-11-2006, 03:00 PM try checking grounds. might not be the problem but its worth a try. (alot cheaper than an alternator too). {LK} Mario 01-12-2006, 09:36 AM i was thinking along the lines or fuel delivery, or maybe an ignition problem? Does your car have a distributer or is it coil pack? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
