Hi Everyone,

My 2000 Infiniti G20 is having a strange problem off-late. Sometimes, it does not shift into overdrive at all. Pressing the overdrive switch on or off does not have any effect. Sometimes, I am able to fix the problem by turning off the ignition, and then restarting it. However, this incantation is having less and less of an effect (it worked earlier everytime, now only sometimes). When this problem happens, the car drives with a different feel and somewhat less power.

Can someone please tell me what is going on? What kind of repairs should I look at? Is this a transmission problem?
