I have fluid all over my drum brakes on the drivers side rear wheel.I can see it is leaking out the seal for the axle. I'm going to be taking my differential cover off soon, so I can remove the two axles. What things will I encounter when taking this apart? Should I change the bearings while I'm in there? I've never worked on this area of a vehicle before so am I going to be in for it,or what?

You dont need to take your axles out at all. It is probably just an outer axle seal, ive heard its an easy fix.

My father and I got it all done. We had to remove one center pin in the rear end ,which holds two "spider gears"in place. Once they fall out ,you push in from the brake side of axle and remove a half moon clip then the axle comes out.
The outer seal was bad, but you have to pull the axle out, to replace it, as the seal slides over the axle. I did both sides while I was there.
