setting timing--C3 connectorforzafiat 07-15-2005, 04:34 PM Where is the c3 connector on an '85 Olds 88 with a 305? What does it look like? I replaced the head gaskets and had to remove the distributer. Jim Adams 08-11-2005, 12:12 AM it should be a small plug that is just a jumper,,it says to remove the C3 and set timming then replace the connector? I would just do it by ear,,heres howloosen distributor and then advance the timming with the engine at about 2500 or 3000 rpms ,,it will start to shudder a little bit back it up just a few degrees and lock it down,,,wait a few minutes about 10 and turn the car over if it turns over hard,,like grunts when she turns over then back her up just a hair more if it turns over fine then you should be ok,,,anothet thing is when you go down the road and stomp the gas if it pings a lot then she is to far advanced it may ping just a little if you run regular but it should be a very little. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
