Impreza bumper kit on a Legacy?

I have a 1997 Legacy GT, and wanted to put a custom front bumper & spoiler on it. I tried ordering a $200 spoiler from Japan...until I discovered the shipping was $450!. Here's my question. I have a good body man that also does a lot of specialty work with fiberglass. Why couldn't he retro fit a commonly available spoiler & bumper kit for a 2003 Impreza onto my Legacy? This might be a dumb concept, but honestly, how different can they be besides the bolt pattern and maybe the overall length (which is where a fiberglass man could shrink or grow it to fit)?

Has anybody out there ever tried this?

Thanks,
Cap

They are pretty different. The wheel wells dont match up and theres large gaps and such under the headlights.

However, I have seen a Legacy with a normal Impreza bumper on it, so that means that it can be done (it had the problems I mentioned above though). With enough work you can get one to fit.

Thanks, I forgot about the wheel wells. That would be a major pain. Maybe I'll just go for a custom Imprezza spoiler on the front so all I hopefully have to worry about is the overall length.
