ok so i have noticed that my oil pressure gauge registers only when i put engine under load , accelerating hard or decelerating from high speed but when cruising at normal or low speeds it says 0 .. i know this cant be , has anyone else had this problem before??

i was going to replace the sending unit as that is the main culprate on this issue on the z31....

My z31 was the same. Reading 0 at idle and it would slowly creep up once you rev the engine hard. After some spirited driving I'd look and the pressure would be off the scale.
That being said, I was burning oil like no tomorrow anyway so this info probably doesn't help. :)

yah i burn oil but its not that bad its not like i have to add it everyday its more like once every 2 weeks and im not leaking it..

so yah tonight i was cruising around with a friend in my z31 and this punk in a 03 5.0 shitstang wanted to race me so we hit it he lead on the low end but when we were about mid to high end when the turbo kicks in good i gained on him and was ahead and thats when the dude threw a cup of soda or some shyt at my car got it all over my friend inside my car all over the outside, i slammed on my brakes cause he slowed down hard and when i did my steering problem i have had shifted and threw me over and i enbded up doing a 180 on a busy 4 lane road soon as i turned around and got to teh light he was at we jumped out and he took off like there was no tomorrow so we got in my car i had ta pull over so my friend could get in and by that time we tried to find them and never found them ... we looked for them for about 2 hours..

its ok because what goes around comes around and we will find him and beat the crap out of him and his crappy car.. im pissed because they threw it at my car and got it on us just the fact that they threw it ..

all i know is its some white boys in a 03 dark blue mustang but ill know who it is when i see it--- so thats how my night went

Same problem with Z32 sending units... they are crap after a few years. You can always opt for an aftermarket Oil Press. gauge instead of replacing it like I did and be pimp...

yah im done with messing around with my Z its actually my control arm buchings and my sway bar bushings i got under it and i could move my control arm back and forth and its not loose so im replacing that A.S.A.P.

oh and this happened in bolingbrook but i havent forgot what the car looks like i kinda remember what he looks like so im not going to worry about it until i see him driving again...

yah i was gunna go aftermarket on the gauge problem and convert the digi dash to analog i like teh analog better...

hopefully soon i will find another car so i can fix my z31 i hope to get a z32 but well see whatever comes along i guess..

The gauges in the Z31s are rather lame. Oil press...boost...oil temp...crap. The gas and the voltometer aren't bad, though. The oil pressure gauge in my current Z31 will only show a reading until I get to around 2500rpms. Here's a test. Hold the throttle so that the RPM is steady at 2000 rpm...the oil pressure should be around 50 psi...or between the 2 only hash marks on the damn thing...45 and 60, I think...don't remember off hand due to the Bacardi 151 and I don't feel like going to my car. If it registers NOTHING at 2000 RPM, then your gauge is either bad or you have...like...2 psi of oil pressure. Which do YOU think is the case. MINE will go up until I get to about 2500RPM, then it'll rapidly drop down to 0 again. I know the cars well engough to know it's just a bad gauge, so I don't worry about it. You'll know if you have a big problem...cuz if you truely have no pressure, you do have a big problem...

I'd try to change the gauges. That's probably what the problem is. I'd look into the oil burning problem, though. It could be worse than you think.

The rest is pretty off topic and kinda long...if you don't care, don't read it...

151 is evil. That's why I bought the smallest bottle they had. Only a little bottle that holds maybe 5 oz or so.

Don't have many stories about that shit...but one I can think of is definately worth telling...

My drunk ass was out partyin with my neighbor Dave in West Palm. We would go out ALL THE TIME...even party when we WEREN'T out...always doin stupid shit and I have the scars to prove it.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAnyway...one night, we went and got a couple bottles of our usual evil, Boone's Farm. Oh yea. Boone's Farm. Brutal shit that is. Drank couple bottles along with a bunch of other misc. shit that I found among my crack head room mate's empty bottles. I was done. Completely toast. I was on a mission that night, for whatever reason, and the mission was a success. Drank it all in...like...30 min. I'm a firm believer that it's not WHAT you drink or how MUCH you drink that matters as much as how FAST YOU DRINK IT.

AAAAAnyway...my dumb ass decides to go outside. I stumble out my apt door and, right in front of the doors on the bottom floors of all the buildings are fire extinguishers with the glass over them. In my drunken smartness, I decide to see if I can put my fist through it...well...I can...but glass is sharp when broken. Sliced a good 1" gash in my knuckles over my pinky and ring finger of my right hand. Bleeding EVERYWHERE. My dumb ass decides to go to one of the other buildings and see if I can do the same with my left hand. Yup. Didn't cut that one, though. By this time, my room mate catches up to me and drags my bleeding ass back to the apt.

It's at this point that we all, to varying degrees of sobriety, have a decision to make. I'm laying on the kitchen floor, so needless to say, my vote doesn't carry much weight...but my vote ends up winning anyway. Instead of going to the hospital for stitches like we should have, we went to a strip club.

Here's where the 151 comes in. I get to the club and decide to step my game up so I started ordering 151 and coke (and I was only 18 or 19 at the time...yea...). Drink a few, then the DJ offers a special. Put a $5 bill in a dancer's thong and get 2 free drinks of your choice. I was up quicker than anyone could imagine. Ordered 2 more 151s. At this point I had 4 or 5 of them on the table cuz everyone was buying them for me. I had enough to spare, so I started pouring them on my hand that was still bleeding.

Moral of this LOOOOOOOOOONG drawn out story was that 151 is actually pretty good for stopping the flow of blood in cuts if the need arises...

this is sort of from the dead, but hey i've been gone for a while... anyway... you haven't had a stiff drink until you've had a little thing called Everclear... it's a modest 190 proof 95% alcohol.. has warning lables all over it.. it's good stuff :)

Bleh...I can buy that shit at the liquor store around the corner. Drank some Bacardi 151 straight once, and that's "only" 151 proof, and I'll never drink it straight again. Anything more than that is your own throat. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck that.
