i have an 89 accord sei and i am noticing a burning smell. i thought it was electrical cause thats what it smells like but today when i was driving i was smelling it pretty strong and when i looked in my side view mirror at a stop light there was white smoke coming from the rear wheel! What do you think it could be?

do u notice any difference in acceleration? one of your shoes could be stuck on the drum and dragging so its like your driving with the brake on, and that could be causing your burning smell, could check it out.

Yep. You probably broke a return spring and have a shoe dragging. Brake lining has a kinda corky smell to it, is that what you sense?

Drive it a few blocks and stop, and see if that wheel feels much hotter than the others.

Check your brake fluid too. Sometimes a wheel cylinder will leak and saturate a shoe with brake fluid, which makes them like to drag also.

Possible the e-brake cable has stretched on one side, that'll make a shoe drag too....
