car bucking when put in reversebx10466 07-12-2005, 06:37 AM I have a 92 accord lx and I took a road trip yesterday approx. 600 miles. Everything was cool until the end. I notice a felling from the car like the brakes were bad when coming to a stop. I wish that's where it stopped but when I tried to put it in park, the shift felt like it got jammed between park and reverse. I hurried home and when I tried to park the car it start "bucking" when placed in reverse. I let it stand over nite and it was still hard to get it out of park but it drove nice until I tried to park again. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone? I hope this isn't something major with the tranny...... Deadhead 07-12-2005, 12:59 PM Has your idle RPM changed at all? Does it sound like it's going to die when you put into reverse? bx10466 07-12-2005, 01:06 PM The RPM hasn't changed but it does sound like it's going to die. But the idle is steady. Deadhead 07-12-2005, 01:09 PM what is the RPM? 800? 1200? what bx10466 07-13-2005, 06:13 AM it's more like 800 rpm, but the tranny guy told me I would need to think about a rebuild. He claims he added some additive to my tranny and to give it a couple of days and see what happens. If it dosen't help then I have to think about doing the rebuild before I lost reverse all together. Sounded OK until he started talking about $1800. Anyone know where I can get a decent tranny for a better price than that? Just in case... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
