I have a 1994 GMC seirra and it just 2 days ago went very low on oil pressure, and yesterday started tappin, i added a couple quarts of oil and it ran fine, but today on my way to work the pressure slamed down to the red at low rpm and finnaly at my parking spot sounded like a wrench hittin concrete so i shut it of.

Iwas just wondering what could be the issue with the low pressure.
Could it be the oil pump is worn, or worse the bearings or could i just have blown seals?

Opinions and Suggestions appreciated.....THX

By chance do you have any leaks? Friend of mine had a hole in in a hose that caused that same problem. But then again is there oil in the air filter? that would be a cause of blown seal at one of many ways to tell
