My Speedo and Odometer aren't working. The display is there for the Odometer but not advancing the mileage. The Speedo isn't doing anything at all.

What might cause this?

Thanks in advance for your responses.

Could be the speed sensor located on the right side of the engine/car between the engine and the passenger seat. It is attached to the transmission. This has been discussed before. Please do a search for past posts. If you still have questions, please get back to us.

If you get a check engine light, and your cruise control doesn't work either...it will be your speed sensor as mentioned above.

Do some searches for speed sensor and VSS, and you will find plenty.

I had a 95 accord EX coupe automatic. I sold this car to my in-laws. Two years later the speedometer and the odometer stopped working. It was not the speed sensor nor did the check engine light come on as Igovert500 stated above because the cruise still worked. I replaced the speedometer for them and it is now working fine. I have know idea why that part of that instrament cluster stopped working.
