umm of course it is possible anythings possible..

i know youll need new mounts im sure its a pretty easy drop in , then youll need a custom driveshaft and ofcourse the trans from the vg..

you will need alot more than that. the whole engine bay will need to be customized and it will be a pretty tight fit.

there is a guy that gets on here every once in a while that has a VG30DETT in an older Datsun...he may be able to help you eventhough he does not have a 280z.

i would personally look more at JDM motor swaps or the L28 turbo...i think those will give you the best bang for your buck and the RB20DET is probably the easiest swap besides the L series.

He's trying to keep the powertrain Nissan... Understandable.

I would say don't even bother trying to get the wide VG to fit. I'd say go ahead and go RB20DET, or RB25DET... That would be a fun car.

That's just my opinion though.
