Upgrading my carGebo 07-10-2005, 06:18 PM Im going to get a 1995-1998 Acura Integra and as Ive test drove some they dont seem to have as much power as I would like them to have. I'm new to all the upgrading and stuff and I was wondering what would be the best thing to get for the car as far as power and accelaration goes. I dont wont it to sound like a weedeater though. Im on a budget of say less than $1000. Greenblurr93 07-10-2005, 06:58 PM less than $1000? ....nitrous Gebo 07-10-2005, 07:03 PM Well I thing im talkin about cool air intake, chips mabye things like that but I am new so i really dont know much about upgrades. Mage218 07-10-2005, 07:18 PM if you can go up to a grand then the intake and chip would be a good option for a stock car...www.andysautosport.com is a really good site to look at for this turboEKhatch 07-10-2005, 08:05 PM Well I thing im talkin about cool air intake, chips mabye things like that but I am new so i really dont know much about upgrades. So why did you put it in nitrous/turbos/blowers section? Damn that english language and that compreshension. Gebo 07-10-2005, 08:05 PM Thanks guys and another question if you had $1000 for upgrades what would you put in it and is there a site or something that tell you what does what? snowman2005 07-10-2005, 10:24 PM ok first of all stop telling him to get a chip because if he did the right thing and got a good chip(meaning a programable ecu) then hed need to dyno his car. depending on which integra u buy u might have a good platform to buildoff of. if u get a gsr ,great uve got more power to start with. if u get an ls then uve got a pretty good platform for turbo. If u want to upgrade ur car for under 1k u might be able to put together a junkyard turbo. if u want to get easy to install stuff with alright power pick up get intake/ headers / exhaust. all that might run u about 500$ all the way up to more than u wana pay. u get what u pay for.if ur really expecting alot out of this car then expect to spend more than 1k in it other wise mayb this aint the right car for u. if i had a 1000$ to put in it id sell the integra(or not get it) get a rilling civic shell(with no motor) an ls motor with b16 tranny and i/h/e and spend the rest on suspension :D honda_racing101 07-12-2005, 09:18 PM Alright this kid called a CAI a cool air intake and said he wanted "chips" you really think he understands everything you said snowman? Shame on you! lol jk. Gebo 07-12-2005, 10:24 PM I'm getting my first car and decided I wanted a Acura INtegra. I've worked 2 summers and saved my money. My Dad told me about this forum. I thought this was a place I could come and ask questions. Thanks for the cut downs. I sure hope I can become as smart as "some" of you. civicHBsi91 07-12-2005, 10:52 PM Get yourself a nice integra, start off with an intake and exhaust and learn how to drive, you may think you do and all that bullshit but the more you practice and such the better you will get. If you want to get better at racing goto the track and run, who cares if you run slow your learning how to drive your car and you make it safer for you and people around you when you drive if you know how to handle your car. WhiteLine Civic 07-13-2005, 03:23 PM Just drive the car, Save your money and then ask that question. a grand will get you a loud car that runs a 16sec 1/4. Most people spend AT LEAST 5 grand on their cars, its never ending. www.whitelineperformance.com SOHC~4~LIFE civicHBsi91 07-14-2005, 05:07 PM 94-99 ls integra with bolt ons could easily make low 15 sec passes with a good driver. buddy of mine did it many times, he was runnin constant 15.2's with a 150k full interior ls with bolt ons. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
