Options:
Cloth seats - I find these to more comfortable than leather.
Monsoon Stereo w/ 12 disc changer - isn't bad for a stock stereo system
Hurst factory shifter - It's a very possitive feel to the shifter, it'll take me a while to get a hang of it.
T-Tops: Pretty cool, all the fun of a convertible just doesn't ruin the look of the car.

Current Mods:
K&N Filter - Dirty needs replacing... It's beyond cleaning
Magnaflow muffler - I think it's just the muffler, as far as I can tell from looking underneath.

Future mods:
??? If any.

Horrible pattern on the seats tho...ewww.

Yeah.. another white car... I wanted a red one.

But this one was a good price, and it's an 01... which means it's got the LS6 intake stock. That's about $600 I don't have to spend.

Plus, it's got cloth interior. After test driving it I loved it cause it's a bit softer than the Leather. And I won't burn my ass on it if I leave the T-tops off and get in after it sitting in the sun.

It's by no means a super fast car, but it scoots good enough for what I want.

id say justto basic I/E/H and a programer and call it a day. much past that takes a LOT of work...

maybe cam it up.

nice car though... you already have intake (sorta i geuss) so real exaust, headers, performance programer and cam it up and id bet it would be nearing (if not passing) your old 2100lb 260hp fun mobile.

thoes are what? 3100lb and around 300bhp stock?

Well, it's about 3500lbs or so... and has roughly 310hp stock. Rated by GM, but they tend to dyno at about that stock, so it's pushing roughly 345-350hp stock.

The Z was about 2200lbs and had 300hp crank, the best it dyno'd out was 252whp. It was quick that's for sure.

The Z28 is just comfy, in comparison to the 240z. I've riden in other cars that blow the Z28 away in comfort and quality. But that's not why I bought it. It's more of a grown up version of my 240z.

One of these days I'll have the ability to mod it... gotta pay off some of this debt first!

ah so you ended up goin back to the LS1 afterall. anyways great car, pretty much a car that doesnt' need much to be done to them. now your name needs to be redneck350. and like what clawhammer said, how does it pull compared to the 240Z?

2000LS1Z28
07-11-2005, 12:48 AM
Actually, theoretically, it should be Redneck 346, as the LS1 has 346 cu. in. Great car Matty, i'm sure you'll love it. Hope you got a great deal on it.

Much better white than "Arrest me" red. No need for speeding tickets now. Besides, when I see a white V8 camaro, I tend to think "COP!" now, with the new rash of highway patrol officers in Camaros.

Nice ride though, check your PM's.

Nice car man. Looks really clean. Nice color choice too!

-The Stig-
07-12-2005, 03:16 AM
Yeah, Bobby it's fun. I got her for $16,500, talked the lot dude down from $17,990. I put $6,500 down on the car, so I've only financed about $12,000 after tax, title and registration and the little basic drivetrain warranty. Not too bad.

Has 60,000 on it... more milege than I'd like... but that just gives me more leverage to justify a rebuild. ;)

Insurance, fuck I hate it. It's like getting hit in the nuts with a hammer. My insurance for the 240Z was roughly $680 a year. It was basic insurance sure, but now that this is a newer car... that's financed.

It's jumped up to $1500 for six months... so $3000 a year. Fucking hell...

Insurance Co.: Matty, bend over... how many fingers?
Me: Might as well just gimme the whole hand...

It's ok though... new insurance company doesn't know me. So I don't expect a good rate off the bat, I suspect after 6 months it might drop down a tad for 'good behavior'.

As for the 240z powerwise to this Z28. Nearly equal, the 240z felt like it might of been quicker out of the hole. But I haven't really gotten on it from a stop in the Z28 yet. They feel similar, but top end the Z28 would get it just for having more power and gearing.

6th gear at 70mph I'm doing 1600rpm. Awesome.

This weekend I averaged 20.4 mpg with highway and some city driving giving a few rides. Coming home from TerminalVelocity's house 83 miles away, I averaged 25.5mpg using cruise control at 70-75mph depending which area I was in.

Fairly impressed so far at the milege of such a car. It's pretty easy to drive... backing up is a bitch cause you can't see anything. Oh well...

Actually, I might put in a CB unit so when my buddy gets his new truck we can communicate. So I might have that little antenna on the top of my car... wonder if that'll fool people.

Maybe really fuck with them and have some of those door magnets made up, but instead of a Highway Patrol star... put on the Carls Jr. star...

And on the rear quarter panels... "To Cook and Serve"

Yeah know, we used to have a Geo Storm GSI. Well it' was my moms back in the day. It was a dark blue with the factory 'aero kit'. We bought it from a dealer as a used car and it had a muffler of some sort maybe something done to the ECU. I'm not sure, it was so long ago... but it was damn peppy for an Isuzu.

I always used to say it was a baby Camaro...

 well, i'm a small guy... I'm like 120lbs after eating a big dinner. So, leather usually is pretty firm for my somebody my size. I don't have enough weight to make the leather get 'cushy'.

So the cloth seats are nice and foamy. And have ample side bolster support for my little butt.
