Anyone know if you can put a civic ex turbo kit on a civic lx?

yea you'll be fine. just make sure the kit is for the right motor. also I had to remove my a/c to get my kit to fit but thats not unusual

the intake manifolds are different(ex have the TB on the side and the lx has the TB on the top) so you'll have to custom do the last little bit of charge pipes or swap manifolds. the d16y8 intake manifold is the best of all of them. so if you want some extra hp you could swap that in before the kit, and then the kit would bolt up 100%

there are kits for non-Vtec civics, why don't you just buy one of those kits....they'll bolt up rather than having to fabricate a piece on the EX kit. The location of the throttle body is different for the EX. But other than that, they're pretty much identical.

BTW this is a 99 lx. Before I turbo it I'm going to do a mini me swap. If I do that should I get the EX kit? Also, anyone know if I'm going to have to remove my ac?

I don't know exactly what a mini me swap entails, but that is a good idea... I think that if there's a kit available, i personally would do it because i don't know how to do a Vtec head swap on a non Vtec engine. And as far as AC i really don't know.

when you do the mini-me if your swapping the new IM on the you want the kit made for the EX.

wether or not the kit is AC friendly or not is up to the designer of the kit. contact them to find out
