My 97 civic hx recently met some puddles of water. Now it sounds like a turbo or something under my hood. Its terrible. its a big whistling sound when i hit the gas. i pressed on the gas and my dad looked under the hood, but he couldnt figure it out. could it be something wrong with my intake? i had a cold air intake but my friend cut it to make it a short ram,or whatever its called, and thank god he did cause i drove over some water. anyone have any ideas?

does your car still run like normal... you cold have a vaccum line off, not that the water would do that, maybe just a quincedence(spelling)

yeah it still runs like normal, it just makes that whistling sound.

my car makes a cool wistleing sound if i press the gas just right. i have a SRI as well.

lol. mine to. well the only thing water does to mine is makes my belts squeal but thats it

is your filter on your intake? when your filter is off it will do that. Tighten your fillter down and that should fix it

My delsol used to do that but not when water hit it all the time never seemed to harm it and filter was tightened down real good...Didnt bother me none a car will always find a way to make noise somehow LOL..

might just be ur intake. usually when u get an intake u have a whistling noise. as long as u didnt go trough water with ur cold air intake u should be fine. check if ur filters clean tough
