Any suggestions?

are you sure it's not the "change oil" light?

OK, So lighten up and take a Xanax or something - I was just trying to help! I simply was going to look up the circuit in my Helm manual once I verified the complaint. There is a reset for the change oil light that many people don't know about (and ask about) and I just wanted to make sure which it was, sorry for the bother.

ChrisThere are so many goofy things that happen with the Intrigue (really any car). Your condition is the first I have heard of it. Not as bad as all of your lights constantly flickering on/off, but still a worrysome issue. When I have more time I will look into it. Something like this wouldn't worry me as long as I knew the oil level was correct. Probably just a faulty sensor.

Kmohr#3 was just trying to rule out the more common Intrigue problems.

I could not find a part number or location of the switch.

Engine Oil Level Switch
The engine oil level switch is a simple float switch that is grounded when the engine oil level is OK. When the ignition is first turned ON, the PCM commands the Low Oil Level lamp ON for approximately 3 seconds test the bulb. The PCM also checks the engine oil level switch circuit at startup. If the engine has been running, the PCM performs a test routine based on the ECT (http://www.alldatadiy.com/alldata/AFI~V4824942~C33946~R0~OD~N/0/77993956/78154819/78154882/78154884/34853741/92093625/100409253/100409254) to ensure that the engine oil has drained back into the sump before checking the state of the engine oil level switch. If the ECT is between 15°C (59°F) and 130°C (266°F) , the PCM compares the ECT at the last key OFF to the ECT at the current key ON. If the difference between the recorded temperature values is at least 12°C (54°F) , the PCM will test the engine oil level.

www.rockauto.com/ (http://www.rockauto.com/) has it for $21. But I would try to fix it myself if possible first. If I could find where it was.

Thanks, I read in the manual that it only checks it at startup but it didn't go into that much detail. If anyone knows or finds out how to check and replace the sensor please let me know

GMparts direct listed the part as #12558709 for the 3.5L engine. I couldn't get the price. AlldataDIY only shows a wiring schematic and not the location (may be even inside the engine/oil pan). The engine oil pressure switch is easy to get at however. If I have time I can check my microfiche. I would just go to the dealer and ask for a schematic print-out and part information/price.

I wonder if the oil pressure sensor would trip the low oil light also? --I don't think it does.
